Planning
This is the proverbial ‘money’ page for the person on your planning team who wants to know the nitty gritty details for pulling off a well-planned outreach event, big or small. If you’re the vision and idea guy, just skip this and send your administrative guru back here for you!

Location Tracking Outline. If your goal is to blanket your city with God’s kindness, then it can be helpful to start tracking suitable outreach locations around town. Once you have a simple system in place, it’s then easy to mark which spots worked, which didn’t, and whether there are special considerations to take into account when hitting that spot next time. This is also helpful for equipping groups. If you’ve tried a spot as part of an “official” outreach and then a small group in that area wants to take over, you already have a tool for helping them be successful by learning from your experiences.
Outreach Prep Checklist Sample. A simple one-page tool that is customized for whatever outreaches you have planned on any given day. This is for those helpful behind-the-scenes folks who will make sure you have all need equipment and supplies on hand and ready to go when everyone else shows up to reach out.
Direction Sheet. It’s sure to mess up your outreach if no one ends up where they’re meant to go, or if your group ends up in different spots because of bad directions. Use a simple direction sheet like this one to get everyone on the same route and to exchange cell phone numbers – one sheet per driver.
Sign In Sheet. Nuff said. Sending thank you notes and requests for feedback from first timers can be a great way to improve the success of future outreaches. But you can’t do those things unless you know who showed up to serve.
Timeline for Planning a Weekly Event. This timeline can easily be modified for monthly and quarterly events as well, since all the principles are the same. Start with whatever frequency you know you can consistently maintain and stay there until the demand is so great you can’t fathom not outreaching more often!
